weiro eggs

Hi Carly, I have a female who is about 3 years old. She has been a prolific egg layer, about 8 eggs each time. I have put her in with a lovely male but haven't actually seen them mate, however she has 13 eggs in the nesting box. They take turns sitting on about 6 eggs but this has been going on for weeks, do you think they may be fertile & if so how long before they hatch.Neither have bred before

Breeding in some birds takes time. It seems like if they did mate, they would be great parents. Maybe they are both females? Or it is just taking a while for them to mate. Just keep the eggs in their until they refuse to sit on them, and wait for the next clutch. Maybe one day they may mate. ;) You can also try calling a vet, maybe they will know why they won't mate.
