Question
how can i tell the gender of my baby budgie?

Answer
Look at its cere. Your budgie's cere is sort of it's nose. A cere contains nostrils (two in-depth holes), so it's easy to find it's cere. It is located over the upper bill (upper part of beak) on a budgie. A male's cere will be royal blue in most cases and a female's cere will be brown or pinkish. Some male albino budgies (pure whites) may have the purplish-pink cere color for as long as they live. But young budgies may not have developed this coloration yet.
