Question
sorry but do you know if there are any diseases or pests that affects the miniature pony?
what can be dobe about it?

Answer
The miniature is affected with any of the diseases that the big horses can get. There are so many different types that we vaccinate against. I would suggest getting a book on ponies which will tell you all that they are affected by. They need to be wormed regularly to avoid parasites and they are prone to lice due to the dense coats they get in the winter so need to be routinely lice powdered. If you over feed them they can get laminitis which again is something any horse can get and so any book on horses and their care will give you a lot more detailed information on the diseases ect. I vaccinate for rhino and flu as well as west nile, stangles and potomac horse fever. But depending on where you are in the country there are other diseases in different areas. Hope this answers some of the question for you. Melissa
