Question
hello ma'am, please dont think i am acting funny:

do monkeys, cows, buffaloes, sheeps, and donkeys develop a bond and give a good company to horses? would you suggest me to rear a monkey as well as a donkey at my stables? ma'am, please tell me about individual animal in detail!!!

Answer
Horses are very gregarious..(seek company). They are herd prey animals, so they naturally live in herds. This is important to them for protection, security, and they do indeed bond and develop lasting friendships.

That is one reason why trainers have goats sometimes as companions for their race horses.

so if you have horses that otherwise would be alone, it is a good idea to have a donkey. pony, goat, etc.

I am not sure about monkeys. They may well be all right..but I worked in a zoo and took care of monkeys, and I feel as companions animals it might be better to stay with grazing animals, although horses have developed friendships with cats and dogs.

It has been suggested that it is cruel to keep just one horse alone. I remember a sad sight...there used to be a lone horse in a pasture that I passed.....he had no company..he would just stand for hours and hours next to a telephone pole.
