problem with racehorse

hello,my name is pat,my daughter who lives in cyprus as a 4 year old race horse that is quick out of the starting gate but when is ahead of the other horses he tries to turn round to see where the others are and tries to go back.it has only started in the last 4 months.also she has a foal that has long pastern,will he grow out of it,or is it a bad problem.i live in england and have to ask these questions as my daughter has'nt got a computer at the moment.thank you.

Hi Pat:

       The best way to run your four yr old is to sit along side another horse until near the finish. I have a good stake horse that will do the same thing,so the jockey has to judge the race just right.As long as you win, it does not have to be by much.

        The foal will prbably grow into the pasterns. By the time it is a 2 yr old, you will not recognize it as the same horse
