Question
My horse is turned out everyday and is very stocked up behind - I am not sure why?  He is given the same feed and hay and I found no cuts on his back legs.  Why could he be stocked up even when he is outside everyday?  Should I let him wlak around in the snow or should I keep him inside and put Furi-Zone with a bandage?

Answer
hi Heidi,
The plain and simple cure for stocking up is more, regular exercise.  This does not mean harder or longer rides when you do ride but more opportunities for the horse to get exercise during the day, every day. be sure to not overfeed him with grain. even over feeding with hay can make him stock up. so i would cut back alittle bit more. if he has weight issues you can possible change grain to a more fat based grain to maintain his weight such as rice bran, mare and foal, beet pulp, or senior. keep him turned out daily and at night bring him in and wrap his ;egs with absorbine gel or liniment. this will work better then the Furi-zone. good luck
