Question
I have a 2-year-old hermaphrodite (mostly mare attitude and behavior).  She is VERY attached to me and "talks" whenever I approach.  Recently, after being tied up for awhile, she got very talkative and excited when I approached her.  She actually popped up on her hind feet a little.  Hoping that was a one time thing I was dismayed when today she actually reared all the way up in her excitement to see me(while she was still tied up).  HOW do I go about correcting this problem before it goes any further?

I really appreciate your help with this.  Vickey

Answer
THEY HAVE A CORRECTIVE COLLAR AVAIABLE THAT WORKS WITH A HAND HELD REMOTE. IF YOU CORRECT HER WHEN SHE STARTS THIS  HABIT. GIVE HER A JOLT, THEY GET THE MESSAGE REALLY FAST.

YOU MIGHT TRY A BUGGY WHIP AND WACK HER LOW ON THE HIND LEGS IF SHE GOES UP.

YOU COULD ALSO PUT A SET OF HIND BREEDING HOPPLES ON THAT WILL PREVENT HER FROM REARING.
