Are goats good for horses??

Hi, I have read many articles from your webstie. I still have a question...  I have heard that goats keep colds and dieseases away from the horses. I was just wondering if that was true?? We have horses and we always run the goats with the horses. My horse just loves the goats. The goats sleep with her. I was just wondering if you could help.. Thanks,

Hi - I have never heard anything that claimed goats keep disease away from horses......I know that many people will mix animals - my horses grew up with sheep and I nbever had a problem with them mixing.

One thing you do need to keep in mind is the feed that you give the goats may not be good (even deadly) to horses....I know that feed with Bovatec cannot be fed to horses...it can kill them.....
