Question
Hi Lyn

Pls can you help?

I have seen a anglo arab x TB 7yr old dapple grey that I love in every way - confirmation, big ride, no injuries, lovely temperament, snaffle, clean legs, all rounder, keen to work etc etc etc BUT there always has to be an issue doesnt there - there is on the left side of her muzzle where there is no hair what looks like warts but I am concerned that it may be a sarcoid.  There are a few bumpy bits which are flat which didnt affect the tack she had on because they had taken the nose band off ... I queried that and the girl said her boyfriend wanted it off as it reminded him of his racing days ie arab racing - mmmm I thought.  Anyway it is only a small area approx 3/4 inch long.  Having looked into sarcoids I know that they do sit on areas where there is no hair - do you think this could be one?  if so in yr opinion depending on whether the sarcoid is easy to deal with do you know how well freezing liquid nitrogen or BCG vaccine work?  or would this flag big alarm bells to you?  I am at the point where I would get the vet in but would the vet be able to tell exactly if it was a sarcoid and which one it was?  yr advice is much appreciated

Answer
Jackie,

Sorry but you're gonna have to bite the bullet and call the vet in on this one.  I simply cannot make any kind of assessment on this.  I suspect you may be right but only the vet will know for sure.  As for treatments, that depends a great deal upon what it is you are dealing with.  Again, this is the field that a vet would be much better suited to advise you than I can.
