Potential joint pain in back

Question
I have a 6 yr old Palomino Qtr Horse who is very quiet, trained for Western Pleasure activities and "appears" comfortable and smooth. He is not worked hard when training since his disposition is awesome.  Lately he has been dropping his penis leaving it out the whole time were riding.  He is not bending to the right very well & he keeps resting his back feet when just standing.  To me it seems obvious that he is uncomfortable but I'm just curious of your opinion if you think it's something in his back or hocks or sheath?

Answer
Hi Chris,

It sure sounds like a pain response.  Remember - I'm a chiropractor not a vet, so if you think it could be his sheath or something else medical, please seek the advice of your vet.  If you need to find a chiropractor, go to www.avcadoctors.com for a referral in your area.  It sure seems like it'd be worthwhile to have one out.  Good luck, and keep me posted as to your progress.
