20 year old mare

Question
I have a half arab /quarter horse mare I want to breed. She had a healthy baby when she was 6 years old . I am considering breeding her to a larger stud . She is 14 hands ,he is 15 or so. Do you think it is a good idea to breed her at this age . She is very healthy and has alot of spirit. I don't want to do anything that will harm her in any way . She has only had the one foal in her life .

20 years is older for a horse that is like 50 for a human, that is very old to have a child, lots of possible issues and she it could cause mom to die during child birth. Lots of horses that need a home, if you want another horse there are lots out there, to breed her would put her at unnecessary risk in my opinion.
