Questionhello sir. as i told you that i want to become a thoroughbred racehorse trainer, does equine behavior correction, studying its body language in depth help me to become a very good racehorse trainer? i am only concerned about racehorse training not other disciplines. would you advice me to study a horse from scratch?
AnswerRohit,
Understanding equine behavior and knowing how to read their body language is a valuable skill to have in any discipline. I don't know how they train racehorses in your country so cannot advise you in that area. The only way I can tell you to learn about training racehorses is to go to a racetrack or training facility and get a job working with the horses. Groom is a good position to start with because you work more closely than anyone with the horses and can learn from them. You can also see what's involved in training racehorses. A good knowledge of equine anatomy is very important to understand the injuries that the equine athletes sustain as a result of their work.
Training horses that are used in the extreme sport of racing is not easy. But you have a strong desire to do this so go for it. It's going to take time to learn what you need to know but you can do it.
Good luck!
