Question
hello sir. how come proper shoeing solves cribbing problem in horses? actually, i read an article in internet about equine cribbing which specifically mentioned about proper shoeing helping out a horse to stop cribbing.

Answer
HELLO ROHIT...THANK YOU FOR YOUR QUESTION...

This MAY be beyond my "realm" of expertise !! LoL

UNLESS...WE are trying(or the article is on the psychological side)to say that IF the equine
is more comfortable, then it could STOP the condition called "cribbing" !??!

Cribbing, as it is called is a mental/nervous condition USUALLY brought on by being isolated
or confined to a stall or paddock area for too long or on a daily basis.
Horses are "social" animals and like ourselves, might argue with our brothers and sisters, but
we still enjoy and must interact for good mental health. Horses are NO different!!

Being isolated, out of boredom, they will and can start chewing on posts, fences and other objects. It will advance into pulling back with their front teeth and "wind sucking" which releases an endorphin to give them a "satisfied" feeling. Extreme or continued practice can cause colic in many horses.

You naturally shoe a horse, as I have mentioned in many of my articles, for "protection or
correction"!! Also, "traction" is a secondary choice to shoe.

It really has nothing to do with each other.

Best to You !!
