rubber pads on hooves

Hi sir. It's said that trainers use rubber pads on horse hooves which are subjected to shocks. May I know how to get to know that?

Pads are used to help & control shock/concussion.
If the horse shows tenderness, they can be applied "temporary" to give relief.
