what is he?

Question

I don't know what type of turtle he is?He has 1 red stripe by his eyes  he likes to explore land.He like's land better than water,but I bought my best friend the same turtle and her's loves water.On his shell is octagon's with square's on the edge.He likes to dig in the gravel and like's cool and dark place's.He bite's and is aggresive.
I think he's a central ameracan wood turtle,but i want to be sure.

Many species, like wood turtles, have very different personalities- one will love water, the other not. One will love apples, the other hate them. That is perfectly normal.

What did the store tell you it was?
