Question
Our Tortoise is 3 years old. We have had him for 14 months and just changed his indoor home to a larger one but he has stopped eating. He seems fine in himself, is still enjoying a bath and run around the sitting room but has not eaten for a week. I have read this can happen but how long should I let it go on before taking him to the vets? Many thanks.

Answer
Whenever you change things, it takes it about a week or two to get used to it.

Keep offering food (especially beloved treats) and water daily until it starts to eat. As long as it feels heavy, is drinking and defecating, though don't worry too much.

DO take a moment to make sure that the temps, humidity, lighting , etc. is OK.

A good care sheet for Hermann's can be found at http://www.austinsturtlepage.com
