white stuff in neck

i got my daughters 2 red ear sliders and one of them has a white thing in his neck,every time i try to get it ,he retracts his neck...What should i do?

It is probably just a flap of skin being shed. If the overall cares are solid, then don't sweat it.

You can review the cares at a good site like http://www.redearslider.com and see if there are things you need to tweak.

While turtles do shed, they shed more when stressed and I think that is all that is happening here.
