Safe release place for a water turtle

I have a map water turtle that has grown to about 6" and needs a saft place to release.  A place where there are no fishing allowed. Thanks

Sorry for the delay, I thought I already answered this.

I applaud your concern, but the sad reality is that releasing a turtle after more than about 8 months of captivity, or more than a mile from home, means that it will probably not do well.

Besides releasing it, you can try to find it a new home- pet shops, reptile clubs, craigslist, etc. can help with this, and you can try http://www.turtleforum.com for all kinds of help.
