swollen limbs

Question
Our bearded dragon has swollen legs. His back one was especially swollen to the point we thought that it may be broken so we took him to the vet. She said it was mbd and gave us some calcium syrup stuff to give to him. Since then the swelling has gone down but there are bulges on his front legs that are pinkish, his back leg is still swollen and his lips have turned pink. Before taking him to the vet we changed his uvb light. He is still eating though does not like eating his veggies, prefers his wormies and crickets, but sometimes doesn't care for crickets.  Could this be something other than mbd? Are his pink lips something we should be concerned with?

Answer
Hello Don,

Do you have any pictures of him for me?
How old is he?
The pinkish tint might be an upcoming shed possibly.  How long has it been since he has shed?
Did the vet do a blood test to determine the calcium levels, & is he still on the liquid calcium?
Which UVB are you using?  A fluorescent tube bulb or a compact/coil light, & what is the brand?
It could possibly be gout, but without a blood test to see what the uric acid levels are it is hard to confirm.  A picture would be helpful.
Were any x-rays done as well?
What type of supplementation has been given in the past prior to the liquid calcium?
What type & brand of UVB was used before you just replaced this one?
What do his urates look like, are they hard, soft, white or discolored?
