Leopard gecko eye

Question
QUESTION: My lepoard gecko is six years old now and she recently got some of the skin that was meant to be shed off her eye stuck in it.  I took her to the vets and i got some eyedrops for her and took her back after two weeks so he could remove the skin.  Now he has removed the skin he said her eye has retreated into her head and that the lizard has done this herself, however the eye was normal before just with the skin on it.  I was wondering if it is possible that the vet has pushed the eye inwards as he removed the skin on her eye with a cotton bud, because it is now 4days after and she still cannot bring her eye forward. And was also wondering if leopard geckos do infact pull their eyes inwards at any time. I am not asking this question because i particularly distrust my vet just because i have never heard of leopard geckos doing this before and was dubious of his explanation
Thankyou very much,
Chris

ANSWER: Hello Chris,

No, leopard geckos eyes normally do not recess in that manner.  Did the vet push pretty hard on the eye itself as best that you could tell?
How does the eye look, is it getting infected or has it turned cloudy yet?
Does it seem to be bothering her right now & can she open & close it somewhat normally?
I am not sure that can be fixed or not.  If it is stuck like that, surgery might be the only option if tissue was damaged.  If it was just "popped" out of place, then, it may eventually work itself back up to be flush with the body.
Is she eating?

QUESTION: Hello,

Yes from what I could see the vet did push quite hard on the eye and I immediately thought that something was wrong.  I cannot see how the eye looks because she will not open it, and at the moment she will not eat and has lost a bit of weight due to this.

Answer
Hello Chris,

Oh that is too bad the vet hurt his eye this way.  I am not sure whether or not this is able to be fixed, but possibly with surgery but I am not sure.
Does it look like it is hurting her?  Can she or does she use the other eye though?
You may need to get some chicken, turkey or beef baby food & feed it to her through a plastic dropper or plastic syringe.

Let me know how she is doing.
