Answer
Hi Matt,

A crested gecko, eats insects and bugs with some fruit in their diet......think of how the crested sees the iguanas tail....it sees it as a big juicy worm just waiting to be eaten...please...separate them ASAP for the health and safety of each of them.
No species should ever be housed together.  Iguanas and cresteds have different care needs with diet, temperatures, uvb, humidity and housing.  An iguana needs to be in a cage that is 5-6 feet high, 6 feet or more long and at least 3 feet deep.  A crested gecko can live all its life in a 30 gallon high tank.  An iguana depends on uvb to be able to get the calcium from the foods they eat.  Without it they will die...a crested gecko doesn't need uvb.  An iguana requires very high humidity.  Crested requires moderate humidity.  An iguana eats nothing but vegetables, greens, fruits.  A crested geckos main diet is insects, which are deadly to an iguana.
You say that they have been housed for a yr together.  At a year of age, the iguana should be at least a total length of 24 inches or more...
You need to separate them ASAP so that they can each get the correct care they need.
If you need a care sheet on either or both lizards, please let me know and I will send you one.
