Sick Bearded dragon...HELP!

Question
I have a sick bearded dragon at home.  We recently moved (6 weeks ago) and before we moved Mooshu had been sleeping for about 2 months.  He's 6 years old and has always been healthy and had the same sleep/lack of appetite/thirst cycle for the past 5 years.  Since moving he has been awake a couple of times but has refused any food or water, i tried everything but was only successful with getting limited water into him.  That was 5 weeks ago.  I've been worried about him and decided that misting him while he slept wasn't enough and he didn't look good.  When i went to pick him up he was very dehydrated and skinny.  I feel absolutely SICK about it.  He is obviously not well...i soaked him in some water, went and got emergency meds from our pet store for reptiles who are dehydrated and have suffered stress malnutrition.  I was able to syringe the meds down his throat last night and misted him constantly.  I changed the bulbs in his terrarium and tried to make him as comfy as possible.  he has NEVER become malnourished before and has gone this long.  Please tell me what else i can do for him.  He is weak and is lightly sleeping.  I'm afraid to take him out of the house and causing him more stress at the vets but i'm willing to do whatever you feel i should.  Please help me.
Thanks
Tracy

Answer
Hi Tracy,
Normally during brumation the metabolism slows down so that Mooshu shouldn't be losing very much weight at all.  I would strongly urge that the vet see him.  If he needs more fluid than he can drink, the vet can give him an IV.  If he has a medical problem, the vet can treat it.  And the vet can give you some Critical Care for Omnivores if he needs nourishment.  When any creature looks truly sick...definitive care is always first thing.
