Question
I have just bought two beardies one was bought 2 weeks ago n the other a week ago they have been getting on fine, untill last night when the new beardie bit the other ones tail. I really dont understand why it did this there both babies and we was led to belive they will only fight when they hit about 8 month old and if there both male?? can anyone please help me.

Answer
Hi Becky, Baby beardeds that are housed together will sometimes nip the toes and tail of their cagemates but it is usually caused by hunger and not aggression. Beardeds are a fast growing species and the young ones have hearty appetites. I like to offer them crickets at least twice a day, as much as they will eat in 10 or 15 minutes. Making sure they have some chopped greens available at all times will usually help avoid toe and tail nipping as well.
