Question
hello, tracie, chris here. I have 2 leopard geckos that have shedding problems. They never shed completely and  i always end up having to use a q-tip to get the skin off. (It gets pretty annoying and tiring after a while) What should i do? I even put them in their own humid box with wet paper towels and a rock for them to rub against, they just can't get the skin off. Should i use products from my pet store that help them shed or is it harmful to them?

Also, how long do i have to wait before using the q-tip to peel off the remaining skin? Because i don't want to force the skin off and hurt him. Please help. Thanks so much.

Answer
Hello Chris,

Well, do you have a humid hide in their tank for them?  What do you keep the humidity at normally in the tank?
The hide or cave should have a type of moss such as sphaghmum moss & should be sprayed 1-2 times daily.  What will help increase the humidity inside of the humid hide is to make sure that the undertank heater is underneath of the humid hide to help release the moisture.
You can soak them in warm water periodically if they need help.  If you will setup the humid hide as I suggest you should not have any other troubles, or very rarely.
