Question
What is the biggest snake in the world?

Answer
Robert,

This is a question I am asked quite frequently, and I feel that I can give you a pretty confident answer.  When asking what is the biggest snake in the world, you can mean one of two things.  If you are referring to the longest snake in the world, then that would be the Reticulated python of Southeast Asia.  Retics, as herpetologists often call them, can grow to be about thirty-three feet (although this is very rare).  If you are referring to the heaviest snake in the world, then that would be the Green Anaconda of northern South America.  These snakes can weigh as much as a large slaughter-pig and have been known to eat things such as deer, pigs, capybaras (worlds largest rodent), and even small children!  I hope this helps you out.

Best of luck,
Joseph Glenn
