My Sinaloan Milk Snake

Question
Hi. I have recently aquired a 3 month old Sinaloan Milk Snake. It is my first time keeping a reptile as a pet so I am very new to it. I notice that he seems to be more active during the day opposed to nighttime. At night he seems to spend most of his time in his hide. I have fed him a pinky a few days ago in his cage and he had no problem feeding. Unforunately last night while i had him out of the cage he fell onto the floor from about a meter high. Do I have anything to worry about. I also have a heat pad installed. Should this heat pad stay on all the time? He also seems very scared! Are all these things normal? Kind regards

Answer
Don't worry about his fall.  I suggest that you do keep the heat pad on as much as possible.  He probably will be scared for quite a while due to his age.  As he keeps growing though, he will realize he's safe, but don't forget about animal instinct, he may still do something bad someday.
