Questioni have a baby savannah moniter we have had him a couple months and i have noticed most of his toes are missing i wouls just like to know if its a humidity factor and will they grow back? thank you
AnswerHi Samantha
Yes-most likely it is from not having enough humidity-such as a moist hide and the dead skin from a shed has not been removed and it has amputated the toes
I am very sorry to say that the toes will not grow back
If you do not have a moist hide for your Sav-you need to provide one and /or soak him after every shed to ensure that this does not happen again with the result of the loss of more toes or even his tail
Bad sheds can also be the cause of other problems such as eye infections
I hope that this has helped
