run away snake

I live on a city street which is kind of crowded. My neighbor said his Red Tailed Python or boa not sure which got loose. I have 3 small children, is there cause for concern here?

NO, red-tailed boas, are typically docile in nature and do not reguard humans as food.  Most red-tails sold in pet stores do not get bigger 8 feet.  There are some species that can go over 10 feet but they are rare and probably not what your neighbor lost.
