Question
I bought my Leo yesterday and all I have seen him do is hide and sleep.  Also I took him out today but after I took him out I remembered I wasn't supposed to take him out for 3 days, is that a problem.  One more thing is I don't kno if he drinks out of his water dish. Please answer all these questions, thank you.                 P.s. He has been eating

Answer
Hi Nate,

He sounds quite normal actually. It is good to give them a few days without handling at first to let them settle into a new environment but if you have already seen him eating then he sounds like he is adjusting well. They are from arid/desert areas and don't drink that often or for very long, you might not spot it when it happens. As long as the water is available he should be fine.
The thing to remember is that leos are nocturnal (active mostly at night) although they will wake up in the daytime if food is available. Otherwise they do spend most of the day hiding and sleeping. If you are a night owl yourself and are able to observe him after midnight sometime you will likely see an entirely different animal. Ours would come out at that time and crawl all over the tank, standing up tall on all four legs, often on top of their hide spots with tails raised and with bright alert eyes looking all around. By morning the tank would look empty again as they all went back into hiding for the day.
