Question
Hi, I am going to the pet shop tomarrow to look at there bunnies, I called ahead they said they have two mini rexes, two dwarf dutches and a mini lop, My question is; would any one of those be better for a pet then the other? what is the difference other then size between them? how big do they all get? is a male a better pet then a female? does it need to be fixed? will it be ok with my dogs passes its cage and sniffing at it?

Answer
It's really going to depend on the personality, none of these breeds have any issues that you would need to be aware of.  The Minilop would get to be the largest, at about 8 pounds.  Dutches top out at 5 pounds and Minirexes at 4.

The gender doesn't matter either.  Definitely at 4-6 months you will want to get them neutered.  Unneutered males spray and circle, and unneutered females get possessive and can bite.  Once their hormones are gone, they stop these behaviors.

Being around dogs is going to depend on the individual rabbit.  As long as the dogs don't try to get in the cage, the rabbit should be ok.
