Question
My son has a cross lionhead/lop eared rabbit, we think its a she as we can't find any male bits. She is about 5 1/2 months old and is a house rabbit (lives mainly in his bedroom) and has recently started pooing all over when she comes out of her cage (both in his room and the lounge where she comes a lot).  She has also started to try mating with his arm.  The other night, we also had the hamster out in the lounge in his ball, when the rabbit came in, it was obvious she didn't like him being there (she can't be frightened as they have been together many times with no problem), anyway she sprayed the hamster ball with urine (it just seemed to shoot out from the back end). She has never, ever done this before.  Why has she changed from being a clean bunny to a dirty one?

Answer
Sounds like your bunny has hit bunny adolescence.  Once their hormones kick in, they spray, circle, mount, buzz, oink, and mark everywhere.

The only fix for this is spaying your bunny, then the behavior will go away in a few weeks as the hormones go out of her system.

You can read about this at http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/spay-neuter.html and there is also a link on how to find a good rabbit vet.  Rabbits require different care than dogs and cats, and the most common antibiotic for cats, amoxicillin, will kill rabbits.

It generally happens at between 4 and 6 months, so sounds like your bunny is right on schedule.
