handling baby bunnies

I heard that a mother will attack her babies if they are touched or handled by humans. Is this true, and how old should the babies be for people to handle them?

hi sara-sometimes its true but what I do is remove the doe and give her a titbit to eat-rub my hands in the nest material to get rid of my human smell and then look at the babies.
you normlly  check them within 48 hrs of birth,removing any dead ones -recover them and put the doe back then let her get on with bringing them up they will start moving about when they have there eyes open at 7-10 days this is when its best to pick them up
