QuestionI have two female pet rabbits. One of them just started pulling large amounts of her own fur out and has been making big burrows outside in the dirt. Why is she doing this? I haven't seen any mites/fleas in her fur or on her body. Is there any way that I can stop this behavior?
Thanks.
AnswerUm, are you sure they are both female? This sounds like nesting behavior. You might want to read up on baby bunnies at http://www.rabbit.org/care/babies.html
If you are lucky, this is a pseudo-pregancy, meaning she isn't really pregnant, but it's very common in younger rabbits to mis-sex them and end up with babies.
