Question
Its a hot summers month and I feel that the hutch must be getting really hot. I need to cool down my rabbit, he seems to be lazing in the enclosed area of the hutch and I have a bowl of water for him to drink or to sit in, which i change every hour or so as the water becomes warm. What else can I do in order to care for the rabbit in this 30c heat? thank you.

Answer
Ideally, a rabbit should be inside in an air conditioned building during the heat. However, if you cannot do that or do not have air conditioning, there are other methods of cooling a rabbit down. You can take plastic soda bottles, fill them with water, and freeze them. Then place them in the cage for the rabbit to lean against. You can use a mister system over the hutch, or you can even have a hose set up to run over the top of the hutch. The evaporating water will cool off the area. If you do run a hose over the hutch, make sure the water isn't actually running into where the rabbit is. Or at least, if it is running in, that it only runs into a small part, so the rabbit can get away from the water if it wants.
