Digging Holes

Question
Whenever i put my 20 week old male rabbit out in its run, it digs holes and it is making a real mess of my lawn. Is there any reason why my rabbit is digging holes and is there any thing i can do to stop it digging these holes?

Yes, rabbits by nature burrow, so he is digging his burrow as his instincts are telling him to do.  You could keep him inside the run, and put chicken wire in the bottom of the run, to keep him from digging, but other than that, the other alternatives are to put rabbit repellant in those areas and there has been varied success with those.
