Answer
Hi,

it depends on what 'taking care of' entails.  The biggest factor is whether or not a rabbit is fixed or not (male or female).

Females are territorial and can be more cage aggressive than males.  Males generally should not be paired with other males.  If you get one of a pair fixed, you should get both fixed.  Never pair an intact rabbit with a fixed rabbit.  No matter what kind of pairing it is, you should always be on the lookout for fighting or the signs that something is getting out of hand.

Other than that, males and females are generally friendly.  The differences that may make one an exceptional rabbit could be their unique personalities.

Female rabbits don't 'get feisty' when the time comes.  They (like males) may get a little more hormonal from January to June (spayed or not, neutered or not) as this is their normal breeding season.  It is greatly reduced if they are fixed.

If you are thinking about breeding, I would advise against it.  The supply of rabbits currently is far, far greater than the demand for them.  So much so that they are the #3 animal turned into shelters behind cats and dogs.
