Question
my little friend just wondered into my back yard on Sept.
afternoon, that was 14 months ago. he climbed right into one
of my granddaughters lap, no problem, huh......well I fed
this bunny through the winter[very cold winter some days -40
below and more, alaska is home] anyway he lived in our out
shed sharing quarters with a obnoxious squirrel who hid over half of the food I would take out twice a day. well
spring came and bunny survived [at 62 more important I survived]it has become a neighborhood bunny however and it
roams freely in everyone's back or front yards. well it
came to eat less often in the summer however it had free
access to my garden, anyway winter is here again, and bunny
remembers i feed him wellllllllllllllll. I would like to
know if now that he is accustomed to living in the wild as
we say, is it possible to cage him for the winter inside
not to run freely but if I could make a large cage with
different heights and add-on room with toys, he has been
crazy about the water cap that is under our fifth wheel we
let it hang down when we drained it and he has taken it over as his personal toy.  any suggestions will be appreciated. and I do believe little bunnies do have attitudes.......................

Answer
Hi Peggy,

I think that this bunny, from what you describe, would probably not mind the large place for it as you describe what you'd like to do.

He's coming back to the place he could count on in the winter, there is a reason why he is back to you.  So I think he would naturally not mind what you have in mind.  And he'll be a lot safer.  Who knows, he may not want to be out of your company when it gets nicer.  He'll probably live a lot longer if he chooses to live that way.

So I woudl say, try it.  After all he is a domestic rabbit, this is what they have been bred for, companionship with people.
