Question
I've  just brought home my 1st baby rabbit he's 12 weeks old, he's a dwarf lop and I'm just wondering how much water he should be drinking as what i put in his bottle fresh every morning he doesn't really seem to be drinking much of. Can you help!!---please---

Answer
Dear Lou,

Normal water intake for an average mammal is about 90-100ml/kg per day.  If the baby isn't drinking from a bottle, provide a shallow, heavy crock with fresh water daily, as this is more natural for him and will promote healthier drinking habits.

Rabbits also get liquid from their food, but they always should have a clean bowl of water available.  Sipper bottles are just not very good for them.

I hope this helps.
