Bad tempered spayed three year old rabbit

Question
Hi there,

i have a 3 yr old female rabbit that has been spayed. She has got the worst temper, so much so that dhe tries to bite me anytime i go neat her cage or walk past her when she is out. I find it increasingly frustrating aas feeding her is becomming a nighmare. I also have a 3 yr old neutered male, who in comparison is an angel and love to give kisses! The pair cannit be kept together as the female is to bad tempered that she terrifies the male.

Can you suggest anything that may change her behaviour as i love her very much but do not know how mych longer i can put up with her nasty attitude.

Many thanks

Answer
Dear Gemma,

Some rabbits are just foul-tempered for no apparent reason.  Our Maggie was like that.  Biting, latching on, and being just awful.  She was with us for 14 years, and taught me more about patience and love than any other rabbit I ever had.  :)  She eventually calmed down, and we found that one cause may have been an abscess in her head, which finally manifested and resolved with treatment.

But I hope this will help:

Good luck.  This is a very tough situation, but with love and patience, it can be won.
