Question
Samantha, My three yr old doe is pregnant. I can feel the bunnies inside and see them shifting from side to side. we are on the 36th day tomarrow. My question is can they go any later than that? she is a holland lop. can they not decide to give birth if conditions are not right for them? She has had four litters of kits w/ great success. This is why we are concerned she has never gone this far before. She is also not letting the buck mount her. Not being mean or bittie just running away. She is also become needy, very needy for petting and attention. what do you think?

Answer
They really aren't supposed to go past day 32. I have saw them go to day 35 and live. The longer they hold them the less likely she will have living kits when they are born. Is there a chance of miscalculations in the days? She should growl at the buck and maybe stomp her back feet if not bred... but this may just be a very laid back doe. If she is really wanting attention it seems that she may not be bred. Most but not all does get a little agressive when bred and generally do not like to be messed with.
