Question
Dear pam,
I wonder if you could give me a bit of advise. Me and my sister recently got 3 rabbits, 2 bucks which i think are mini rexs, and 1 doe which i think is a english. Were not exact on there ages the 2 bucks are housed together and doe is on her own. The 2 bucks are great together as they are brothers but i just wondered if that will last when they mature? should we house them separatly? or get them neutured? Also we tried to introduce the bucks to the doe 1 at a time the were fine the first time but then she attacked the quieter one do you no the reason for this? He was fine just got a little scab on his shoulder. I would really appriciate your help and advise.
yours faithfully
Lyndsey

Answer
Hi Lyndsey

The boys will almost certainly fight as they get older.  Sometimes doe's who are litter mates can be kept together but in my life long experience with rabbits I have only ever seen one un-neutered pair of bucks that were able to be bonded.

You really shouldn't put them with the doe until they are all neutered and spayed.  They will either fight with her or each other.  You also don't want an accidently pregnancy.  The best thing to do is to house them separately and after you get them fixed then you can work on bonding them properly.  This must be done in neutral territory and it can take some time.

I am attaching a web-site that explains how to bond your bunnies.

I hope this helps.  Good luck

Pam
