Question
My husband was trimming the grass with the edger and accidentally sliced a baby bunny in the eye. It's not bad but we believe that he can't see out of one eye since it's covered with hair and alittle blood. He's been in a cage and eating well, carrots and hamster food but we would like to free him back into the wild. What should we do? Please help! My 10 year old son wants to keep it as a pet but due to his asthma it wont be possible.

Answer
Well, it's a good thing that you can't keep the rabbit as wild rabbits do not make good pets.  They have different needs than domesticated rabbits, and will never be as tame as a domestic rabbit.  And it might not even be legal in your area to keep him as a pet.

In spite of his injury, it sounds like he's doing pretty well.  Since he's eating, he's probably ready to release back into the wild.

And if you're not comfortable with that, you can see if there is a wildlife rehabilitator in your area you could take the rabbit to by checking this site http://www.tc.umn.edu/~devo0028/contact.htm
