Question
hello,

my bunny stopped eating pellets, and will only eat a small amount of timothy hay. she is being very picky about her food. her poop used to be dark in color, black, but now her poop is light brown. She is also not peeing as much as she used to.

is something wrong with my bunny? should i take her to a vet? she is still very playful and energetic, so i am not sure if she is just being picky?

thank you very much for your time,
yen ^_^

Answer
Hi Yen

Anytime a bunny has a change in eating habits, or has different shapes, or color of fecal pellets it is imperative to get it to a vet immediately.  These are usually the first sign of GI stasis.  With immediate treatment your bunny has a good chance of survival.  If you wait to long GI stasis (slow down) leads to complete cessation of the GI system.

I really hope your bunny is ok.  Please let me know what the vet says as now I am very concerned.

Thank you and Good luck

Pam
