Question
Please help me, I have a flemish giant named Houdini, I have had her for a couple of years. About a week ago I noticed that her back leg is kinda dragging, or not working very well at all.  What can I do about that, also she is tooooooooo fat and I would like to know how much to feed her so that she can looses weight because im afraid her leg problem is related to her weight, Please help me fix my baby.
         Thank you,

Answer
Dear Kay Anna,

Though her foot problem *could* be due to her weight, I'd want to rule out any serious medical conditions, such as E. cuniculi or arthritis (more common in large rabbits like this). You can find a good rabbit vet to help you:

www.rabbit.org/vets

but read this in advance:

For an overview of a healthy diet, please see:

For an overweight rabbit, the first thing to reduce or remove is the *pellets* since those are usually the problem.  Starchy treats are also a big no-no.  Substitute fresh herbs and healthy treats to get her trim.

Hope this helps.
