Question
Hello my name is Amber and I have a female rabbit around 1 years old. I keep her in this metal cage and she just recently started to chew on the little bars and it makes a lot of noise. Is there any solution to this? Is there anything I can put on the bars to detract her from chewing on them? Thank you.

Answer
I would recommend giving her alternative things to chew on. Does she have hay available at all times? You can also give her untreated wicker baskets, woven grass mats, cardboard boxes, tissue boxes, toilet paper rolls, apple sticks, etc.

Some rabbits also chew on their cage because they are bored and need some more stimulation. My rabbit Rex would always chew on the bars when he'd been cooped up for two long. Letting him run around outside the cage for a few hours reduced the chewing dramatically.

The House Rabbit Society can give you some better ideas for chew toys and ways to keep your bunny happy and occupied:

Hope that helps!
