Answer
Hi Isla:

You can certainly take your bunny for a walk, but whenever you do, be certain that he does not eat anything off the ground.  No grass, no garden materials, no plants, no sticks or leaves, etc.

The ground is full of things that can be toxic to rabbits.  Bird droppings, squirrel droppings, mouse or chipmunk droppings, dead insects, etc. are all toxic to a rabbit.  Lawn chemicals and plant sprays are also toxic.  Additionally, if the weather has been rainy then very small spores of mold, unable to be seen by the human eye, can form on plant material and kill your bunny if he ate it.

As long as you can control your bunny from nibbling on anything, you can take him for a walk.
