Reuniting a neutered male and his mate

Hi, our male rabbit Ricky was neutered 4 weeks ago. Although we have kept him apart from his mate sprinkles, we have made sure that they have regular contact through the wire run. We have tried to re-introduce them on 2 occasions, however, both times Ricky was extremely aggressive to Sprinkles and was constantly trying to mount her and bite her, which left her very frightened.
I am guessing that along with frustration, he still has some hormones raging! How much longer should we keep them apart, and what would be the best way of reuniting them?
I would be very grateful for your help and advise.

hi jean -this is always difficut as being on there own they get so they own the territory and any interference (putting another one in )will only result in fighting as you have found out.
keep them apart for another week but keep them near each other so they have regular contact then I,m afraid its playing it by ear and just see how it goes.
