eye surgery on a pot belly pig

Question
We have a pot belly pig that is about 1 1/2 years old, weighs about 160lbs and is about 20 inches tall at the shoulders. His face is very fat and his eyes have always been sunk in his head but now it seems like the fat is squishing them closed and they are filled with yuck and I don't think he can see. Is there something that can be done for him. I love him and hate to see this happen. He has changed in personality because of this. He has become very skittish. I live in Northern Ontario Canada and I am having a hard time finding a vet to help us. Any information you have would be appreciated. Thank you.

Answer
There is surgery for this but it is expensive and painful.
Instead, taking weight off the  pig will help him from becoming what is called "fat blind".

Start by eliminating fruits, (fresh veggies instead)  cutting down on feed, and no treats but air popped popcorn. Measure the feed out to be one and a half cups for the ENTIRE day, no grazing....unless you further cut the feed down.
Otherwise, as the pig ages, this only becomes worse...
Thank you for caring.
YOU are in control of his body weight and condition.
Cheers,
