Question
My pot belly pig, Julie, this is her first litter. Monday she had some milky gel comming out and she was acting like she wanted to squat but no pigs and still no pigs. and this morning no gel?

So what is up?

Answer
I am not a veterinarian, and no one can make a medical diagnosis or prescribe treatment over the internet. The discharge you saw could be connected with her pregnancy or it could be a symptom of a urinary tract infection.

Pig gestation is three months, three weeks and three days.

The biggest indicators of impending birth are a milk line along the teats, and nest building. Sows generally begin to build a nest a day or two before labor begins.

If she goes long past her due date, or acts like she is in distress, she'll need to see a vet.
