Mini pig w mites

We are looking for ivomec .27% for our mini pot belly pig, shes about 6 lbs. the only ivomec we can find is 1%. we read that Jeffers sells the .27% but we can not find it to purchase. please help a.s.a.p!! thanx!

Ivo comes in different strengths. The oral pastes are usually 1 - 2%, treated feed is 2%. The injection solutions are usually in the .27% range. Both Jeffers and Valley Vet Supply do carry .27% injectible Ivo. If the website doesn't indicate which ones are .27%, call or email the company, they will be happy to direct you to the correct product. Both companies have excellent customer service and the reps know their merchandise.

I do not recommend pet owners give injections, ever. Too many things can go wrong. It's possible to use the injectible solution orally, the sales reps can tell you more about the specific products.

I also recommend extreme caution when medicating any piglet under 10 lbs., Again, a lot can go wrong. Be sure to verify the weight of the piglet, double check the directions and measure the dose twice before administering it.

If you are following recommendations from a breeder or veterinarian, you might want to ask them for the exact name of the product they are suggesting, and where they obtained that product.
